Here are the steps you can take to start moving toward YOUR dream career. As you step out on this journey, you will find your ideal future has already begun!!!
- First you will develop an "essential question". That is, what exactly do you want and need to know to determine what your future life -including your work life- will be like and how to get there?
- Next, get together with 3-5 other students who are investigating different topics that are on similar themes. Your teacher may determine the groups. You will work on your own question(s) and goals and you will work with others on group goals and activities that touch upon all your topics.
- With support from your "Dream Team", you will complete an “I-search” from your own essential questions for future planning.
- In the end, you will present your "I-search" as part of your total group project. It works like this: Your group will make a presentation together in which every member has a major part and every member's "I-search" project findings are key to the overall presentation. There are many choices for these final projects and the only limitations are school-based materials, resources, and space and YOUR combined imaginations!
- The presentations to the class or school will make up a "Career Fair" in which YOU are the "professionals" sharing your Dream Careers.
